Today, Brownlee is applauded as one of the world’s best bel canto tenors and exciting both audiences and the media all over the globe. His unique voice has brought him to the top of the world of opera where he has performed on virtually all the major stages. The Danish conductor Giordano Bellincampi heads Tivoli Copenhagen Phil in a firework of tenor performances mixed with overtures and orchestral pieces.

Brownlee's natural vocal flexibility and high tones enable him to sing the most demanding and brilliant music ever written for tenors with composers such as Rossini, Donizette and Bellini in focus.

Lawrence Brownlee was born in Youngstown in Ohio. He was the fourth of six children, and he learnt to play the piano, the bass and the drums at the local church. Music ran in his family: His father conducted the church choir, and his mother was a soloist with the same choir.

Today, Brownlee commutes between the great opera houses of the world, but he is particularly fond of Tivoli. Here, he feels on home ground, not least when he performs together with Tivoli Copenhagen Phil. In other words, the scene is set for a classic “reunion” in Tivolis Koncertsal in August.
