Crises rage and the sea rises, but the stubborn kong Knud isolates himself in his castle, where his songbirds sing and repeat his words. What will it take for the king to take responsibility for the future of the kingdom, nature and the children? 'Time's up, King Knud!' is composed by Irish Siobhan Lamb, who lives in Denmark and masters telling stories with her music. Previously she has composed music based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales and Aesop's fables.

In this both historical and state-of-the-art opera, you can experience Copenhagen International Children's Choir together with the The Suoni Chorus and nine fantastic musicians on strings, horns and percussion together with three experienced singers. Baritone Magnus Bergwill performs as King Canute, soprano Fanny Soyer as the songbird Bellina and mezzo-soprano Cláudia Ribas as the counselor Forquetongue. The opera's libretto is written by Gregory Warren Wilson and is performed in English with Danish passages. 

During the concert, the audience is invited to participate in the musical part of the performance – feel free to bring two small pebbles with you!
