This year we are kicking off the Festival Stage with a fantastic crash course of an opening concert, so you are well prepared for the following days of wonderful operatic moments all over the capital. As always, the opening concert is free.

How do voice types in opera differ from each other? This summer evening at the Festival Stage, you will get the chance to know the enchanting universe and voices of opera better. Host Mathias Hammer will guide us through a varied programme of popular lieder with visits from star soloists.

World-famous Stephen Milling, who will give a rare recital in Børssalen later this week, will demonstrate the sound and range of one of the world's best bass voices. Conversely, the great talent and one of our Festival Stage favourites, Simone Victor, will take us into a soprano's fascinating and soaring register. 

The seductive vocal phrasing will be accompanied by the sought-after pianist and conductor Leif Greibe. After enjoying the beautiful tones – with evening sun upon your face and bubbles in your glass – you can get your heart rate up from a true endorphin rush while taking part in a groove session led by modern dancer Jens Schyth Brøndum.
