Joy of music, imagination and responsiveness are on the agenda when the Bilal Irshed Trio and guests are on stage. Bringing together a team of popular festival regulars in a brand new line-up, the orchestra delivers a fiery mix of groovy rhythms and beautiful Middle Eastern sounds.

This evening at Den Røde Plads is dedicated to oriental music. Two of the musicians from the Middle East Peace Ensemble, oud virtuoso and composer Bilal Irshed and oboist and composer Henrik Goldschmidt, have invited friends and colleagues to form a unique band – especially for the Copenhagen Opera Festival. The evening promises a rich musical journey to the East with wonderful soloists and swinging musicians from a wide variety of cultures.

Enjoy the Danish/Israeli mezzo-soprano Ayala Zimbler Hertz and the 13-year-old Danish/Bulgarian soprano Gergana Maria Ørvad perform rhythmic, emotional songs based on vocal music from the Middle East, Spain and the Balkans. In addition to Bilal Irshed on oud, the classy trio consists of the experienced and sought-after percussionist Ayi Solomon and bassist Rasmus Møldrup. On stage you will also find accordionist Adam Ørvad and, of course, Henrik Goldschmidt on oboe and clarinet.
