Get up close and personal with the creative process of classical musicians as Guest Artist in Residence Daníel Bjarnason provides insight, inspiration and learning to a new generation of talented composers. Bjarnason handpickeds three talents to apprentice with him over two days - and the festival audience is invited to join them.

Discover how the same text in the hands of three different artists can take on three very different expressions. The two-part composition Master Class starts with a session in which Daníel Bjarnason pre-assigns the composers the same libretto, from which they will each write an original work. During this first part of the master class, which is closed to the public, Bjarnason will help his talents with their drafts and guide them in their efforts to write a composition for a pianist and a soloist.

When the doors to the workroom are opened to the public during the second part of the master class, the three composers will present their work to Bjarnason. And you will get a unique and inspiring insight into how composers put heart, soul and many hours into creating the works we all love.
