At the bottom of the Rhine River lies a treasure of gold that can grant all the power in the world to whoever renounces love forever. When the dwarf Alberich forges a magical ring from the gold, a fierce battle erupts between gods and humans. The gods' power-hungry ruler, Wotan, wants to possess the ring at any cost, and when his beloved daughter, the Valkyrie Brünnhilde, defies him, he casts a curse upon her, banishing her from Valhalla. By a stroke of luck, the ring falls into the hands of the young and innocent boy Siegfried. He gifts the ring to Brünnhilde, and together they embark on a journey. Will their friendship be able to save them all?
The Ring of Wagner offers children aged 7-12 and their families an adventurous first-time experience of Wagner's classical masterpiece. Composer Christian Balvig has reinterpreted the original music with the captivating leitmotifs, while four magnificent singers bring Camilla Hübbe's libretto to life under the direction of Mia Lipschitz.
