VOCAL MASTERCLASS WITH JENS SØNDERGAARD

Six young opera singers will have a unique opportunity to learn from the best when baritone Jens Søndergaard conducts a two-day vocal masterclass. And as an audience member, you can seize the opportunity to experience the creative process and talent development up close.

This year's Guest Artist in Residence is both an award-winning opera star and an experienced singing teacher. Jens Søndergaard has sung roles by the greatest masters, from the title role in 'Eugene Onegin' by Tchaikovsky to Sharpless in 'Madame Butterfly' by Puccini, and as a concert singer he has performed with prominent orchestras and conductors such as Jun Märkl and Alexander Vedernikov.

With a master's degree in elite vocal pedagogy under his belt, Søndergaard is a dream mentor for the six young talents selected for this year's Vocal Masterclass at the Copenhagen Opera Festival. Jens Søndergaard and pianist Oscar Micaelsson will take the talented singers under their wings for two days at Unitarernes Hus before the workshop culminates in a magnificent Vocal Masterclass concert on the Festival Stage.
